Valentine’s Cabaret Brings Generations and Jazz to Southbury Senior Center

Boplicity will play jazz, BeBop, swing and more at Southbury Senior Center’s Valentine’s Cabaret Feb. 12.

An intergenerational cabaret featuring six-musician jazz band Boplicity will take place Sunday, Feb. 12 from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. at the Southbury Senior Center, 561 Main St. South.

The event is free and is open to seniors, children and grandchildren age 9 and older. Residents of Woodbury, Middlebury, Oxford, Newtown and Roxbury are also invited to attend. Refreshments will be served in a cabaret atmosphere with elegant music that includes many favorites.

“For this event we’ll play a little of everything, including BeBop, swing, jazz, latin and big band,” said Robert Rabinowitz, the band’s alto saxophone player.

Sunday programming is made possible through a grant from the Western Connecticut Area Agency on Aging.
