If you're looking for amazing New York style pizza - the ONLY place in Southbury is: Mia Sophia!

For NY Style, Mia Sophia is hands-down the best in town; also like The Mad Greek for pretty good thin, wood-fire oven pizza.

Miranda's is my all time favorite...thin crust, great sauce. Nice people. My second choice is Julio's gourmet wood fired pizza...love that as well

Mad Greek for Jersey Style Pizza! Good chew to the crust. Take points off for uneven edges and and uneven topping-spreading.

Mirandas is like Matzo pizza.

Suzy...what is Matzo pizza??? Jersey Style Pizza isn't thin crust, is it?

First off, Mad Greek is not like a Jersey "Tomato Pie", additionally, it's overly dry and "bready" and lacks decent flavor (their Gyro's, on the other hand are excellent!) - you want a Greek Pizza, you need to visit the Pizza Palace in Beacon Falls... and btw, Miranda's has no resemblance in taste or appearance to matzo... unless you are referring to a thin crust, but Pepe's it's not either.

Mad greek by far for pizza and wings. We moved from westchester almost 5 years ago and had only adequate pizza until the greeks came to town! Mia sophias was a disappointment

It all depends on your taste. Some people like thick crust, others like thin. I'm Italian from the Naples' region where pizza was invented and I have yet to find the "real thing" in Southbury! LOL :) When I want a great, authentic pizza, I go to Marzano in Torrington...yum!!

Rob, I disagree about the Pizza Palace in Beacon Falls. Someone recommended them so I went there once. It was the worst pizza I've ever had and the only time I've ever thrown out pizza. You only get one chance to make a first impression and they missed their chance.

GEG, possible that the biz changed hands? - last time I had was almost 2 yrs ago - the only gripe then was and overabundance of olive oil, but the flavor of the sauce was superb...

Miranda's has the best pizza AND they will make it with just goat cheese for me (allergies). They also have the nicest staff (and owners!)!

Rob, no it was the same owners I think because it was several years ago. It wasn't the olive oil or that it was Greek pizza because that is my favorite kind. I think I got meatball and eggplant and it just had a very different taste and appearance than I've had before and it just didn't cut it for me.

Next time you're in Stamford, give Sergio's on East Main St. a try; kind of a dump, but the Greek pizza's good, mozzarella salad is great and the price is unbeatable. And if you like Julio's, give Perrotti's in Middlebury a try...

I guess we need to get out more. I didn't realize there were so many pizza places in town. I've only been to two and of those I like Jordan's the best.
