Another Day Trip Idea for Spring Break - Meet TAD HILLS!

Since I last posted a list of ideas for vacation week, I came across another wonderful opportunity for your children.  Don't miss the chance to meet a delightful author and illustrator of children's books.

TOMORROW- Take a drive to R.J. Julia Booksellers (@rjjulia) located at 768 Boston Post Road, Madison, CT  06443.

MEET: On Tuesday, April 15th at 10:30AM, experience storytime with TAD HILLS.  Tad is the author and illustrator of the highly acclaimed New York Times bestselling picture books How Rocket Learned to Read, Rocket Writes a Story, Duck & Goose, and Duck, Duck, Goose. His board books include the ALA-ALSC Notable Children's Book What's Up, Duck?; Duck & Goose: It's Time for Christmas; and, most recently, Duck & Goose: Goose Needs a Hug.
NEWEST TITLE:  Tad will reveal his newest book, Duck and Goose Go to the Beach.  Watch him draw the lovable characters from his books and hear him read from his bestselling series!

SOUTHBURY CONNECTION:  Let me tell you about Tad (@tadhills)  Almost 4 years ago, I was reaching out to authors and illustrators of children's book because I needed them to join a fundraising effort I was heading for Southbury based charity, Yes! Grace Rocks, Inc.  Tad missed the deadline to join the "All Because of Grace: Reflections and Recipes" project.  As you can imagine, he gets plenty of fan mail.  However, he contacted me anyway and asked how he could help out.  Well, each year we seek illustrators to donate artwork for our holiday cards.  I suggested this idea to Tad who immediately agreed to donate his artwork for our 2012 holiday card.  Within 24 hours of reaching out to me, Tad had his publisher sign-off on the release.  This is a man who not only possesses great talent-- he is a man of integrity, compassion, and generosity.  So, if your children are going to look up to "celebrities", take them to meet Tad tomorrow at R.J. Julia Booksellers!  To learn more, visit www.tadhills.com and www.yesgracerocks.org
