Can an Ambulance Find Your House?

Ambulances can’t help you if they can’t find you.

That’s the message Geralyn Hoyt, President of the Southbury Ambulance Association, is reminding Southbury homeowners this week.

“We can’t find you if we don’t know where you are,” she said. “You’ve got to make it so in the darkest, foggiest, snowiest conditions, we can see you.”

Too often, Hoyt said, ambulances race past an address because the house number is not there or could not be seen. Numbers should reflect light and be at least 2” or 3” and posted on a person’s house near the front door.
