Giant Fireball: What the (HECK) Was That?

Reports of fireball come in from Connecticut and across the region.

By Patch Editor Todd Richissin

If you were outside last night at about 8:30 or so, maybe you saw it: A giant fireball hurtling across the region.

The American Meteor Society has received more than 60 reports of the fireball, which appears to have been over Lancaster County in Maryland, but plenty visible from our neck of the woods, too.

WTOP in Maryland reported that multiple reports of a giant fireball came in to its newsroom, including from one listener traveling eastbound on Interstate 66 toward the Route 7 exit.

Reports of sightings also came from New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
