From our neighborhood to the towns around us, if you're looking for something to do this weekend we've got you covered.

Whether you're in search of something fun to do with the kids or you have a babysitter and are planning a night out, look no further because Patch editors have picked a variety of events taking place today and tomorrow to help you make the most of your weekend. Monroe offers something for everyone this weekend with a host of events on Saturday and Sunday.

This Saturday evening The Country Loft in Woodbury will play host to a fundraiser featuring three of Connecticut's acclaimed celebrity chefs, farm-to-table dining with paired wines and, after dinner, a program of operatic highlights performed by four rising New York City opera stars.

Christian Heritage School will host its 9th annual giant tag sale from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8. The event will be held rain or shine in the school's gym and will feature a huge selection of items. The book sale will feature more than 1,500 new and gently used books, sorted with great selections.

Stop by Trinity Episcopal Church of Nichols' annual Fall Craft Fair and bake sale in Trumbull. It will feature many vendors and lots of tasty treats.

What better way to say goodbye to the summer time and enjoy the beauty of the beach while shedding calories and enjoying the Latin beats of Zumba! Come to Stratford's Short Beach Saturday morning; tickets are $15.

Head down to the Whole Foods Market parking lot (350 Grasmere Avenue) between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday to visit with representatives from gyms and health clubs, doctors, and other health practitioners, who will be on hand to provide free screenings, coupons for services, fitness demonstrations, and samples.

Food, games, prizes and a bounce house are all part of the "Back to School" party at in the Goodwives Shopping Center, 25 Old Kings Hwy. N. from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday.
