Southbury Operation Backpack 2012 a Success

81 backpacks filled with supplies for Southbury children in need.

For the past several years, Southbury Women’s Club (SWC) has been assembling backpacks filled with school supplies for local Southbury children in need.

This year SWC assembled and delivered 81 completed backpacks for Southbury children for the 2012-2013 school year, a number close to an all-time high.

SWC was aided in this cause by donations from the Sacred Heart Mustard Seed Fund, the Southbury Business Association and Region 15 Before and After School Program. Donations also came from the local community through mailed in donations or by making donations in jars that were located in businesses around town including Patty’s Pantry, Southbury LaBonne’s and Leo’s.
