Southbury Outdoor Painters Host Free Paintout June 28th

The Pomperaug Outdoor Painters and the Southbury Historical Society are hosting a special free painting and sketching event on Saturday, June 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Mansion House Road.

The "Paintout" is not an instructional activity but rather a call to artists of all skill levels to sketch and paint together for the day in the open air. Pomperaug Outdoor Painters is a “plein air” outdoor painting group formed to promote landscape painting in all types of media and to foster camaraderie among local artists. Their goal is to help in the preservation of natural and historical spaces in the Southbury area.

Mansion House Road and Crook Horn Road offers beautiful scenic views to inspire painters to create beautiful works of art of open fields, a floodplain forest, farmhouses, barns and an old school house.
