Wind Advisory: Gusts Could Hit 60 Miles Per Hour

The National Weather Service says the winds could bring down tree limbs and cause scattered power outages.

A storm packing wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour had led the National Weather Service to issue a wind advisory through 4 p.m. today, Nov. 1.

The winds have the potential to take down tree limbs and could cause scattered power outages, according to the advisory.

The affected areas extend throughout Connecticut and into the Hudson Valley and Long Island. The Weather Service says the strongest winds are expected to come late this morning, on an east-to-west path that will bring with it showers.

The strong winds could prove dangerous for higher profile vehicles, according to the wind advisory, so drivers are encouraged to exercise extra caution while out on roadways.

Winds are expected to be sustained between 31 and 39 miles per hour during the advisory.
