Renewable Resources Announces Installation of Solar Panels at Southbury Town Library

Southbury, CT (October 16, 2013)… Tom Loredo, Managing Director of Renewable Resources Inc. today announced that his company is nearing completion of a 6 kilowatt (kW) solar installation at the Southbury Public Library. A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, October 26th at 12:30 p.m.

“I am delighted to be working with the Town of Southbury on this very important green initiative,” said Loredo. “We hope that this is the first of many solar installations in Southbury public buildings and that residents will take their lead from the town and consider solar for their homes.”

The array of 24 panels (6kW) solar panels will produce 7,733 kWh of electricity. At a cost of $23,280, the estimated payback period is just a few years. These panels have a life expectancy of 25 years so the town’s investment will yield significant energy savings for many years to come.

“We will work with the town and monitor usage for the life of the project to insure the town gets the best bang for the buck,” said Loredo.

Town officials worked with the state’s quasi-public state agency, the Clean Energy Finance and Investment Authority (CEFIA), to develop this project. Renewable Resources was selected because of their reputation for quality workmanship at a very reasonable price.
