Decorated State Cop Nabs Suspects in 'Sensitive Case'

State Police spokesman Lt. Paul Vance said the investigation is continuing and additional charges are possible.

A state trooper assigned to the barracks for apprehending an armed robbery suspect in 2010 has made another significant arrest.

The Middletown Press reported that on Monday Trooper Jason Cassavechia stopped three men on Route 7 in Danbury whose car contained two handguns, a Taser, a large crowbar, plastic bags and materials that could be used for handcuffs, according to State Police Lt. Paul Vance.

One of the three men fled, but was apprehended on Wednesday in Danbury.

Vance called it a “sensitive case” that could result in additional charges.
