Legislators Say New State Police Dispatch Plan Is Flawed

There are reports of 911 calls being dropped, and the savings are far less than anticipated.

Some state legislators have expressed concerns about for Troop A in Southbury and Troop B in North Canaan to Troop L in Litchfield.

According to the Register Citizen, the legislators say they have heard of numerous dropped 911 calls by the consolidated dispatching center, raising the concern that people facing a life-threatening situation might not be able to summon emergency help in a timely manner.

Some reports said the cost saving fell short of what the governor’s office expected from the dispatching consolidation.
