October Snowstorm Has Arrived in Southbury

Strong winds and heavy snow falling across the region.

The first snowstorm of the season has arrived in Southbury.

Strong winds and heavy snow is now falling across the region and is expected to continue throughout the day.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Southwestern Connecticut effective until the early morning hours Sunday.

Accumulation amounts range from 3” – 8” of wet heavy snow and strong winds near 20 mph, according to the weather center.

Trees already bowing and sagging, paved roads getting covered, not a loaf of bread or gallon of milk left in town...Now all we need is a code red to warn us about the tornado blowing in rabid skunks during a blizzard, a couple of hours after it's all over.
