I lost my husband in an accident. I know losing a child should never happen but I know the pain. The heaviness in your chest, the feeling as though your out of body. Please let out your pain and talk about him. From what I saw on fb he was deeply loved by many. My heart goes out to you.

My husband and I are completely heartbroken for the Gowen family. We never met Tucker but learned about his battle from his cousin and then followed their journey on Facebook. We lost our seventeen year old daughter to the same form of leukemia seven years ago, less than two months after her diagnosis. We have worked tirelessly since to raise money for research on a cure for AML. I hope people share in our outrage that the current chemos are the equivalent of killing cancer with an atomic bomb, totally compromising the patient. AML survival rates are among the lowest and this must change with the development of needed precision nanotherapies, better infection control and a new generation of antibiotics. Please support AML research and write Congress asking for funding to the NIH and other institutes as well as the acceleration of new drug treatments to market. Lives hang in the balance.
