Basketball Community Night in Southbury
BASKETBALL COMMUNITY NIGHT AIMS TO GATHER FANS... AND FILL SHELVES AT THE SOUTHBURY FOODBANK
Volunteers, Players and Parents Invited to Support Girls Basketball and Contribute Much Needed Donations to the Local Foodbank Basketball forces will gather in Southbury on Friday night, Feb. 7th, hoping to score both hoops -- and donations for the local Foodbank. Two high school basketball games are on the program, plus a special exhibition from the 6th grade girls team from Parks & Recreation Travel league. Adult tickets for the whole event are $5, students pay $3 – but admission will be free for all boys and girls wearing a Southbury Parks & Recreation team jersey, accompanied by an adult who brings a donation of one or more non-perishable goods.
- PHS Junior Varsity vs. Bethel tips off at 5:15 p.m.
- PHS Varsity vs. Bethel at 7 p.m.
- Mini-exhibition by the Southbury Parks & Recreation 6th Grade Girls Travel team, approx. 6:30 p.m.
Event organizers include PHS Varsity Coach Joe Fortier and Southbury parent, Lou Romano, a coach for Southbury Parks & Recreation Youth Basketball who volunteers his time to coach the 7th grade girls travel team.
