Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) Seminar

SPACE STILL AVAILABLE AT FREE LUNCHEON SEMINAR ON NEW ENERGY FINANCING PROGRAM FOR COMMERCIAL PROPERTY OWNERS!!

Earlier this year, the Town of Southbury joined a state-wide program called Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE), which allows commercial, industrial and multi-family building owners to finance energy improvements with upfront funding that is subsequently repaid through benefit assessment charges on the Town property tax bill.  The repayment obligation transfers automatically to the next owner if the property is sold. Because capital provided under the C-PACE program is secured by a lien on the property, low-interest, long-term capital can be raised from the private sector.   This arrangement spreads the cost of energy improvements - - such as energy-efficient boilers, upgraded insulation, new windows or solar installations -- over the expected life of the measure.

The Southbury Economic Development Commission, Southbury Business Association and Tribury Chamber of Commerce are hosting an informational seminar for Southbury businesses and commercial building owners on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at the Crowne Plaza Southbury.  CEFIA consultants will provide an overview of the C-PACE program and answer questions from the attendees.  The seminar will begin at noon, and lunch will be provided.  Interested participants are asked to register by contacting Jennifer Buchanan O’Neill, Chair of the Southbury Economic Development Commission, at 203-267-3845 or j.buchananoneill@gmail.com.
