PHILLIPS FARM FUNDAY

Southbury Land Trust's Phillips Farm Funday is open to the public and generously co-sponsored by the Connecticut Community Foundation.  The afternoon will feature haywagon rides, pumpkin hunts, treats and goodies, refreshments, coloring contest, prizes and guided hikes of this beautiful 100-acre farm.  The hikes will include opening of the second phase of the fen boardwalk, an extension which gives the hiker a 360 degree view of a rare bog-like area that attracts interesting birds and wildlife.

As it’s ten years since the Southbury Land Trust acquired Phillips Farm, everyone is invited to share a slice of birthday cake and a glass of cider.  Additionally, Phillips Farm Funday is an official Town of Southbury 225th anniversary celebration, emphasizing the agricultural heritage of the town.

Phillips Farm is located at 500 Sanford Road, accessed off of Jeremy Swamp Road, Route 67, Exit 15 on I-84.  Look for the orange cones at the farm.  Parking is on site.  Dress accordingly, it is a farm, complete with uneven terrain and mud.
