Looking for interesting Christmas gifts, while at the same time
support artisans in Asia and Africa and other Third World countries? Then look no
further. You're invited to an Open House entitled, “It’s a Small
World After All,” scheduled for Tuesday, December 10th, 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the
Woodbury North Congregational Church Parlor. Light refreshments will be
served.
Hand woven silk scarves designed by renowned textile designer
and Woodbury native, Carol Cassidy will be on sale. Purchases of the Carol
Cassidy scarves will help support artisans in Laos and Cambodia, some of whom
are landmine victims.
Additionally, African jewelry to benefit the Nambale
Magnet School in western Kenya, will be available for purchase. Sale
proceeds will be used to support the expansion of the Nambale Magnet School,
which has as its major goal to educate and house western Kenyan orphans.

Other items offered for sale at the “It’s a Small World After
All” Open House on December 10th will be handcrafted items by third world
artisans through the SERRV organization and hand-stitched gifts from the
Widow’s Friend project, which assists women of Bangladesh.
