New Morning Songwriter's Series

The New Morning Songwriters Series kicks off the first show with four singer/songwriters bringing their unique personalities and stories to Woodbury for an unforgettable evening of music. Held in the community room of the New Morning Market, 129 Main Street North, Woodbury, CT. Doors open at 7 PM with the show starting at 7:30. Donations greatly accepted on admission. Refreshments and desserts will be available for purchase.

This first show will highlight four of the best singer/songwriters that Connecticut has to offer:

Becky Kessler was named the "Best Singer/Songwriter" in Connecticut in 2012 by the Advocate Weekly. Her sound is moody and low, electric, resonant and influenced by Jeff Buckley, Elliott Smith, Morphine, Chris Whitley, Tom Waits and Nina Simone.

Bill Benson, from Canton, CT was the winner of the Northwest Idol Competition at the Warner Theater earlier this year.  He writes and sings with conviction and from the heart of love, life and loss.  His style comprises folk rock with a hint of country and rock.

Kate Callahan, Hartford Advocates "Best Solo Performer" award for three consecutive years, offers deep metaphorical lyrics that compare to Neko Cas and Leonard Cohen.

Eric Paradine has been nominated for the best solo performer by the Hartford Advocate and his performances have earned him a reputation "player's player" and a top notch musician.
