Volunteer Day at Audubon Center Bent of the River Southbury

VOLUNTEER DAY FRIDAY, JUNE 8 - 9:00 AM
to 5:00 PM AT THE AUDUBON CENTER BENT OF THE RIVER

Come join volunteers from GE to help with these and additional projects:

-Plant native trees and shrubs along the Pomperaug River

Find out what's happening in Southburywith free, real-time updates from Patch.

-Remove invasive plants from forest and riparian zone

- Use backpack torches to kill invasive plants in the forest (weather dependent)

- Repair bridge on remote trail

-Repair trail

-Install observation platform deck

- Repair and paint snake barn  

Wear:  Long sleeve shirt, long pants, work boots - work gloves will be supplied.

Bring:  A water bottle, bug repellent, sunscreen, and your lunch.

Parking:  All participants should park at
the entrance parking lot and walk up to the barn.
