If you found nearly $100,000 in cash in a desk you just bought on Craigslist, what would you do with the money?

A Connecticut man did what might not have crossed most people's mind: he gave the money — $98,000 — back to its owner.

Noah Muroff, a Rabbi who teaches at a private Jewish School in New Haven, is making national headlines this week as news spreads of the discovery and the good deed that followed.

"Right away my wife and I sort of looked at each other and said we can't keep this money," he told WTNH

The rightful owner of the money was just as shocked as Muroff and his wife, CNN reports. She had stashed the money in there years ago and forgot all about it.

The Murhoffs didn't end up empty handed. They kept the desk, which cost them less than $200.
