Preview of 'Thoroughly Modern Millie' at Pomperaug HS
The Music Department at Pomperaug High School will present three performances.
Pomperaug Theatre Company (PTC) and the Pomperaug High School Music Department present Thoroughly Modern Millie.
The musical will have three performances in the auditorium at Pomperaug High School, 234 Judd Rd., Southbury, on Friday, May 3, Saturday May 4, and Sunday May 5,2013. The Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m., and the Sunday matinee is at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $15.00 for adults and $10.00 for students, senior citizens, and Region 15 staff members.
This musical comedy takes place in NYC during the glamorous Roaring Twenties. The main character, Millie Dillmount, seeking an exciting life as a “New Modern” in the big city, moves far away from her rural home in Kansas.

The dedicated cast features Briana V. as the new flapper, Millie Dillmount; Tristan M. as her would-be boyfriend Jimmy Smith; Johanna F. as the sweet and innocent Miss Dorothy Brown; Dan D. as Millie’s efficient and handsome employer, Trevor Graydon; Nokomis L. as Millie’s landlady, the untrustworthy Mrs. Mears, with her two henchmen played by William L. and Christopher D.; and Lauren B. as the iconoclastic night club star, Muzzy van Hossmere. Join Millie Dillmount, the flappers, the philosophers, and the large ensemble for an evening of great singing, dancing, and fun!
The play is directed by PTC’s Artistic Director, Mr. Paul E. Doniger. The Pomperaug High School student orchestra is directed by Mr. John Tzetzo, the vocal director Mrs. Linda Hughes, and the choreography is designed by Ms. Nicole Cote (of Pomperaug High School) and Ms. Jen Turey (of Dance, Etc., Newtown, CT). The crew of students includes stage managers Kelly C. and Matthew G.; costume designer Natalia R.; and assistant director Meghan M.
