In Memoriam: Donald Crowley, 66

Donald C. Crowley of Pompano Beach, Florida died unexpectedly on October 16th. Born in Waterbury, on November 1, 1946 to his loving parents John D. Crowley and Bridget Hussey Crowley, he is survived by his sister Peggy O’Connor and her husband John of Westerly, Rhode Island, his brother John D. Crowley of Lauderdale by the Sea, Florida, his sister Laney Dolan and her husband Jim of Jupiter, Florida, and Joan F. Crowley of Waterbury.

He was a graduate of St. Francis Xavier School, Croft High School, Danbury State College and earned a Master’s from the University of Bridgeport. He was employed as a religious coordinator at Southbury Training School, and the Town of Wilton Public Schools dividing his career as a math and science teacher between Cider Mill Elementary and Middlebrook Middle School. He lived for many years in Norwalk with a home in Westerly.

He also leaves several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and devoted cousins, as well as many friends. The wake will be held on Monday, October 28th in St. Francis Xavier Church from 5:30p.m. until 7p.m., followed by the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass offered by his nephew Fr. Michael J. Dolan. The church is located at 625 Baldwin St, Waterbury. Burial will occur the following afternoon at New St. Joseph Cemetery in the family plot. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 34 Willow Street, P. O. Box 1612, Waterbury 06721or St. Francis Xavier Church, Waterbury, CT 06706.
