In Memoriam: Irene Dominello, 99

Irene Hacku Dominello, 99, of Southbury, formerly of Wallingford, passed away Monday, November 4, 2013 at the Hearth in Southbury. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph Dominello.

Mrs. Dominello was born in Wallingford, August 10, 1914, daughter of the late Stephen and Julia Penzes Hacku. She was a lifelong resident of Wallingford before moving to the Hearth Assisted Living in Southbury to be near her daughter. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Wallingford and the Wallingford Senior Center. 

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Deanna M. (Mrs. Joseph) Cannata of Southbury; her grandsons, Curt Cannata and his wife Maureen of Massachusetts, and Corey Cannata and his wife Susan of California; her great grandchildren, Caroline, Cole, Alexander and Maxwell Cannata; and her brother, Steve Hacku of Wallingford. 

Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford on Saturday, November 9, 2013, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. A Funeral service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 11 a.m. Rev. Dean O. Warburton will officiate at the service. Interment will be in In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford. Gifts in her memory may be sent the charity of one’s choice.
