In Memoriam: Kathleen Hussey, 77, From Ireland to Southbury

Kathleen J. Hussey, 77, died peacefully at her home in Heritage Village on Sunday, Sept. 22nd, surrounded by her loving children. She was the wife of the late William J. Hussey.

Kathleen emigrated from County Sligo, Ireland to New Rochelle, NY in 1955. She and her husband of 44 years raised their family in New Rochelle, where they lived until retiring to Heritage Village in 2004. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Church in Southbury. Kathleen lived for her family, faith and fun.

She is survived by her six children, Jimmy Hussey and his wife, Linda, of Westport, CT, Mary Margaret Nyland and her husband, Michael, of Ridgefield, CT, Michael Hussey and his partner, Bennett, of Alexandria, VA, Katie Keppler and her husband, Scott, of Ridgefield, CT; Colette Rabacs, and her husband, Scott, of Wesport, CT and Brian Hussey and his wife, Jeanine, of Bethel, CT; 16 grandchildren, and her five sisters, Veronica Dabbs of England, Nancy Murphy of New Rochelle, NY, Peggy Tubridy of Garden City, NY, Pauline Callaghan of England and Chris Lajos of New Rochelle, NY. Kathleen is pre-deceased by her husband, five brothers and one sister. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and her many good friends and neighbors.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Sept. 25th at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury, CT. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
