In Memoriam: Stephen Hornak, 88

Stephen S. Hornak (Age 88) Born in Stratford CT. After meeting his beloved wife Eva (McIntyre) Hornak of 66 years in Bridgeport CT, they raised 11 children in Monroe CT. With 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, he retired from Monroe, CT to Rindge, NH but had recently relocated to the Hearth in Southbury CT prior to his death on Monday, Nov. 4th.

Steve Hornak served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and later employed as a Design Engineer at Textron Lycoming. A gardener, carpenter, mechanic, and a family man. Steve held the position as Trustee at St. Jude’s Parish in Monroe CT, and was recognized for his volunteer work by his peers and family.

Steve was pre-deceased by his brothers Michael and Paul and sister Irene, and survived by sisters Mary and Wilma. He was also pre-deceased by his son Robert whom was married to Maria Hornak-Houle. The remainder of his children and their spouses are, Susan Soucy, Stephen, Patricia and Stephen Fazekas , Mary and Greg Magrane, William and Sheryl, Andrew and Marylou, Anne and Allen Ljungquist, Peter, David and Patty, Anthony and Heather.

 Family service will be private and a public mass service will be held at St Jude’s Church in Monroe CT on Saturday Nov 16th 2013 at 10am.
