Obituary: Edmund F. Fahey, 88, of Heritage Village

Fahey was a veteran of World War II and volunteered with the Heritage Village Ambulance.

Mr. Edmund F. Fahey, 88, of Heritage Village, died Wednesday, Oct. 3 in the Lutheran Home. He was the husband of Doris E. Fahey.

Mr. Fahey was born August 29, 1924, in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Francis and Estelle Fahey. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the US Army Air Corps. After many years, he retired as a manager for Finast Supermarkets. He and his wife moved from Hempstead, Long Island to Heritage Village 24 years ago. He was a past president and trustee for his condo and volunteered with the Heritage Village Ambulance for five years. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and served as an usher for many years.

Besides his wife of 64 years, he leaves his daughter, Sharon Hardy and her husband, Richard, of Carmel, NY; his daughter-in-law, Mary Fahey of East Rockaway, NY, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is pre-deceased by his son, Brian, and his brother, Frank.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, Oct. 8 in Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury. Burial followed in New North Cemetery, Woodbury. Arrangements by Carpino Funeral Home, Southbury.
