Obituary: Frances O'Toole, 91, of Southbury

Frances O’Toole, 91, of Heritage Village in Southbury, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 4. She was the widow of James C. O’Toole.

O’Toole was born March 23, 1923, in Bronx, N.Y., daughter of the late William F. and Mary Mabel O’Brien. She was a former resident of Yorktown Heights, N.Y., and had worked as a realtor for Billingsly Real Estate in Somers.

After she and her husband moved to Heritage Village, she was an active volunteer at the Southbury Training School. She was a member of the Heritage Village Bridge Club and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.

She leaves behind three sons, Brien O’Toole and his wife, Carol, of Somers, N.Y.; James O’Toole and his wife, Jamie, of Danbury; and William O’Toole of Southbury; three daughters, Mary Karen Merrill, and her husband, Fred, of Newtown; Patricia Gold and her husband, Jerry, of Fairfax Station, Va.; and Kim O’Toole Hinderliter, and her husband, Robert, of Westfield, N.J.; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, June 11, at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury. There will be no calling hours.

Arrangements by Carpino Funeral Home, Southbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heritage Village Ambulance Association, P.O. Box 2045, Southbury, CT 06488.
