Obituary: Richard E. Connor

Richard E. Connor, World War II Veteran, died at the the age of 83.

Richard E. Connor, of Southbury, died Sunday, December 18 at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury.

Connor was born on June 1, 1928 in Grenola, KS, a son of the late Myron and Marie Munsey Connor. A World War II veteran, he served with the US Navy and was a recipient of the Victory and the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medals.

He was an active gardener of vegetables and flowers. He enjoyed spending time with his grandsons and was also a big fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his daughter: Kathleen List of Waterbury, his son: Mitchell Connor and his wife, Michele, of Brookfield. His sister: Mary Belle Verbeck of San Diego, CA. Two grandsons: Christopher and Matthew Connor. Besides his late wife, Anne (Scott) Connor and parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Norma Beechner and his brother, John Connor.

Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, with the Rev. Gregg Mecca, Pastor of St. Peter Church, Danbury, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
