William J. Neils, 69, of Heritage Village, died Saturday, Jan. 4 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Dolores (Fox) Neils.
William was born February 26, 1944, in Yonkers, NY, son of the late William R. and Helen (Zaleski) Neils. He was an entrepreneur in New York who retired at an early age in order to travel, relax and pursue his hobbies, including wood-working and puzzles. Formerly of North Carolina, he and his wife moved to Heritage Village in 2010.
Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, William Neils, Joseph Neils and his wife, Mary Beth, and Jamie Neils and his wife, Camille, all of Hopewell Junction, NY; two daughters, Karen Walker and her husband, Jason, of Stanfordville, NY and Elizabeth Cairns and her husband, Roy, of Wingdale, NY; three brothers, Ronald Dubovik of Massachusetts, Dennis Neils and his wife, Elizabeth, of Carmel, NY and Eugene Neils and his wife, Patricia, of Molalla, Oregon; two sisters, Helen Treco of Hemet, CA and Janet Sullivan and her husband, Joseph, of Wingdale, NY; his sister-in-law, Victoria Dubovik of Florida and ten grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his brother Nicholas James Dubovik.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 11 at 11 a.m. at Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main St. South, Southbury.
