Enough Already
At long last we are coming to the end of this very unpleasant election. I have never seen such hostility and ill will emanating from one party. Early in the campaign Ed Edelson reached out to John Monteleone to see if both parties could wage a clean campaign focused on the issues. It is understandable why Mr. Monteleone was unwilling to commit. For the most part his supporters spent the last two months reveling in vulgar personal attacks. Mr. Monteleone’s own flyers and statements provided false information the he knew to be untrue.
It is unconscionable that Republican leadership could not rise above name calling and histrionics. If this party is willing to stoop to these lows what does it say about their ability to govern? Mr. Monteleone claims that he wants to bring Southbury together. Wow! Is this how you go about doing it?
Tomorrow is Election Day and I believe the voters will send a clear message to those who spew hatred and lies as their way to win that this is not the way Southbury operates.
