Select Ed! November 5th

 Dear Citizen,

I am writing you personally to tell you how important your vote is to me and our Democratic ticket and to urge you to vote this Tuesday, November 5th.

It has been my honor to serve you as First Selectman these past two years. During this time I have had the chance to lead the town forward in many important areas. But two years is a short amount of time and as we approach Election Day I wanted to let you know that we have much more we have to do to advance Southbury.

We have run a positive campaign based on offering my record for your consideration.  I have done this via position papers that highlight both my vision for the future and past accomplishments. These can be viewed at www.select-ed.org. More importantly, I have met with many of you personally and have reaffirmed my belief that we share the same vision of moving forward. I am disappointed that my opponent chose to engage in some of the worst kind of campaign tactics, i.e. misleading mailers, half-truths and unjustifiable claims.

As many of you know by now, Southbury’s town hall had a clock outside that stopped working more than fifteen years ago – no one quite remembers when it stopped. Thanks to the initiative of an employee, it is running again and looks terrific. To me, it has become a metaphor of what we have done over the past two years. We started the process of moving the town into the current century by bringing modern management techniques to the operation of government. The Town Hall Clock is visible and ticking. Inside Town Hall and beyond, government is now visible to the community and is working efficiently for you.

I cannot win without your vote. Let’s keep Advancing Southbury.

 Sincerely,

Ed Edelson
