Community Corner

Shame on the Middlebury BOE members tonight for their behavior!

Shame on you, Paul Babarik (R), Francis Brennan (R), John Cookson (R), and Richard Spierto (R), the 4 Middlebury representatives to the Region 15 Board of Education for using our children as pawns in your political game. You are shirking your fiduciary duty to put the education of our children before your political gain.

For those of you who did not attend, all four picked themselves up as the Superintendent finished her presentation of proposed cuts before any discussion began.  By doing so, there was no quorum, so there would be no comments from the public (although Ms. Perry allowed them after the incident), nor would there be a vote on the proposed cut, which leaves us with no referendum to vote on next week.  The longer this goes on, the worse this is not only for our students, but for our housing market and our community as a whole.

Middlebury parents: Stop letting these bullies run unopposed and start telling them to represent your children and their education! Here are their email addresses so you can do so: pbabarik@region15.org, fbrennan@region15.org, jcookson@region15.org, and rspierto@region15.org.
