$800 'Missing' From Parks & Recreation Department

Southbury Police say the financial irregularities were brought to their attention by First Selectman Ed Edelson.

Southbury Police are actively investigating the disappearance of money from the town's Parks and Recreation Department.

First Selectman Ed Edelson brought the alleged financial irregularities to authorities' attention, according to a report available at police headquarters.

Investigators have already conducted interviews and obtained records, which they say helped develop leads for the investigation. So far, the report states, police have discovered that about $800 has gone missing from the department over the last 18 months.

The case remains open and police are attempting to determine who is responsible for taking the money.
