Carey Coppola, 34, of Waterbury, was charged with DUI and failure to drive at a reasonable distance, on Feb. 14 at approximately 1:28 a.m.
According to police, Coppola was traveling on I-84 east near exit 15 in Southbury when she rear ended a vehicle causing it to spin out and strike the wire rope guard rail.
Coppola went to the right and struck the metal beam guardrail sustaining minor injuries and minor damage.
Coppola was released on $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 27.
