Elementary School Mural Defaced, Southbury Christmas Day Thief Charged

Gainfield Mural Defaced

An unknown person(s) defaced a mural on the outside wall of the school on or around July 24.

Woman’s Phone Stolen at Walgreen’s

A Southbury woman reported that her cell phone was stolen while she was shopping at Walgreens, 370 Main Street South, on Tuesday, July 24 at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Christmas Day Thief Caught

Neil Lorusso, 30, of Watertown was charged with conspiracy to commit theft, 6th degree larceny and 3rd degree criminal mischief on Wednesday, July 25 at approximately 9:52 a.m.

According to police reports, Lorusso was arrested at Waterbury Superior Court for charges that stemmed from the theft of a purse from a vehicle at the Southbury UCC Church on Christmas Day 2011.

Lorusso was held by police and appeared in Waterbury Superior Court the same day.
