The Southbury Volunteer Fire Department extinguished a garage fire in Heritage Village Sunday morning
The blaze began in the engine compartment of a parked vehicle inside the unattached, two-bay garage at 527 Winship Drive, according to Lieutenant Jason Decremer of the Southbury Volunteer Fire Department
The fire quickly spread to the garage itself, but most of the fire was extinguished just eight minutes after the initial dispatch, thanks to the SVFD.
No residents or firefighters were injured.
"Town building officials should be looking at the structure today to determine if it can be repaired, or knocked down," Lieutenant Decremer said.
