Landscaping Trailer Stolen, Speeding Driver Hit With DUI

Landscaping Trailer Stolen
Southbury Police are investigating the larceny of a landscaping trailer from a local business.
According to police, a trailer was taken from Southford Garage, 1380 Southford Road in Southbury. The trailer was reported missing on Friday, September 31, however, employees say the trailer could have been missing from as far back as April 19. The landscaping trailer is a single axel 5’x8’ trailer painted black with wood flooring.

Speeding Driver Hit With DUI

William Poynton, 23, of Monroe, was charged with speeding and DUI after State Police observed him driving erratically on I-84 West in Southbury on Sunday, September 2 at approximately 10:42 p.m.
Poynton was released on $500 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on September 12.
Mobil Speedpass Misuse Reported
Southbury Police are investigating the use of a Southbury resident’s Mobil Speedpass at various locations in the area without the owner’s permission.
According to police, the Mobil Speedpass was used multiple times between August 26-27.
