Man Charged With Literally Drinking and Driving in Southbury

A trucker witnessed the driver allegedly holding a beer in his hand.

When you hear the phrase don't drink and drive, one assumes it's referring to not getting behind the wheel after consuming alcoholic beverages. 
But one trucker called State Police Saturday after a car almost hit him on Interstate 84, the Waterbury Republican-American reports. What makes this case so odd is that the driver of the car was allegedly drinking a beer at the time, police said. 
Police charged James R. Gregory, 26, of Bynerside Avenue, with driving while under the influence of alcohol, the Republican-American reports.
