Playhouse Corner Damaged, Southbury Man Charged With DUI

Building housing Southbury businesses damaged last week.

One or more people caused damage to Building #100 in Playhouse Corner on Main Street North in Southbury on or around August 1.

Jack Klein, 44, of Southbury, was charged with first-degree failure to appear on July 29 at approximately 5:36 p.m. when he was taken into custody without incident on an arrest warrant for failing to appear for a court date.

Klein was held on $50,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 30.

Christopher Calabrese, 46, of Southbury, was charged with DUI, second offense, and failure to drive in the proper lane on July 31 at approximately 12:41 a.m. after police observed him driving erratically on I-84 east at exit 14.

Calabrese was released on $1,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on August 21.
