Police Blotter: Multiple DUI's, Traffic Violations

The following arrest information was supplied by the Southbury police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Katherine Moity, 27, of Southbury was charged with DUI on Sunday, September 16 at approximately 2:06 a.m. after flagging down an officer regarding a complaint unrelated to the arrest and smelling of alcohol at the Exit 15 commuter lot.

Moity was released on $2,500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on September 26.

Tara Schirmer, 31, of New Milford was charged with DUI, speeding and failure to drive in proper lane on Thursday, September 13 at approximately 1:55 a.m. after Southbury police observed her driving erratically and at a high rate of speed on Route 188 onto I-84 west.

Schirmer was released on $500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on September 26.

Vanderley Abade, 30, of Naugatuck was charged with DUI, disobeying an officer’s signals, operating a motor vehicle without a license and failure to drive in proper lane on Friday, September 14 at approximately 10:24 p.m. after state police observed him driving erratically on I-84 east near exit 15 in Southbury.

Abade was released on $500 cash bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on October 3.

Shaquannah Perkins, 27, of Danbury was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, violating laws of a construction zone and failure to drive in a proper lane on Saturday, September 15 at approximately 3:01 a.m. after state police received calls of Perkins driving erratically and without headlights on I-84 east in Southbury. 

Perkins was released on $1,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on September 26.
