Southbury Family Was Baking Cookies When Lightning Struck Their House

The family's house was badly burned in the blaze.

Chris Granja and her daughter were baking cookies when lightning struck their Burr Street house Friday night, according to the Waterbury Republican-American. 

Granja and her daughter were able to make it safely outside of the house before the house burst into flames, reports Paul Singley of the Republican-American. 

The family is displaced for now as fire severely damaged the house.
