Southbury Home Broken Into, Man Charged With Harassment

The following arrest information was supplied by the Southbury police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Homeowner Reports Break-in

A homeowner on Ichabod Rd. in Southbury reported a break-in on Wednesday, May 30 at approximately 8:53 p.m.

According to police reports, a person smashed the rear sliding door of the residence. While inside the residence the intruder broke several windows and the kitchen faucet. There were no items reportedly stolen from the residence.

Man Charged After Harassing Phone Calls

Peter Weissman, 38, of Southbury, was charged by warrant for two counts of breach of peace and two counts of second degree harassment on Wednesday, May 30 at approximately 10:52 a.m.

According to police reports, the charges stemmed from an investigation begining in April when a Southbury resident complained of receiving harassing phone calls to their residence from Weissman.

Weissman was released on $5,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 13.

Missing Hammock Reported

A Fish Rock Rd. resident reported their hammock missing to Southbury police on Tuesday, May 29 at approximately 6:25 p.m. The hammock was last scene at the residence on Saturday, May 26.

Rt. 172 DWI 

Stephen Weeks, 33, of Woodbury, was charged with DWI, possession of marijuana less than .5 oz, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to drive to the right after Southbury police observed him driving erratically on Route 172 on Thursday, May 31 at approximately 12:53 a.m.

Weeks was released on $1,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 13.
