Southbury Home Burglarized, Car Crash Leads to Drug Charges

The following arrest information was supplied by the Connecticut State Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Jason Maciulewski, 31, of Roxbury, was charged with DUI, operating a vehicle with a suspended license, interfering with an officer and failure to drive in the proper lane on Nov. 10 at approximately 2:04 a.m.

According to police, Maciulewski was traveling north on Rt. 67 in Southbury when his vehicle crossed over the southbound lane and struck approximately 60 ft. of rope guard rail before rolling over and coming to a rest beyond the roadway. After a brief investigation state police determined Maciulewski was driving under the influence.

Maciulewski was transported to Waterbury Hospital for evaluation and then brought to Troop ‘A’ and processed. He was released on $1,500 cash bond and is scheduled to appear in Bantam Superior Court on Nov. 19.

Southbury Police are investigating a burglary that occurred at a Strongtown Rd. home in the afternoon or evening of Nov. 12.

According to police, the home was broken into and prescription medication was stolen.

Wilfredo Rivera, 34, of Southbury, was charged with second-degree failure to appear on Nov. 13 at approximately 6:50 a.m.  According to police, Rivera turned himself in to Troop ‘A’ on a warrant.

Rivera was unable to post a $5,000 bond and was transported to Waterbury Superior Court.

Jake Murdock, 22, of Prospect, was charged with DUI, possession of narcotics and failure to drive in the established lane on Nov. 14 at approximately 11:29 p.m.

According to police, Murdock was involved in a one-car crash on I-84 east near exit 15 in Southbury. Murdock damaged 80 ft. of rope guardrail and his vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage. Upon investigation Murdock was charged with DUI and possession of the narcotic Zanex.

Murdock was released on $1,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Nov. 28.
