Southbury Man Causes Multiple Injuries in Assault, Drunk Driver Travels 20 MPH on I-84

Southbury Man Causes Multiple Injuries in Assault

Andrew E. Bekech, 35, of Southbury was charged with 1st degree assault and breach of peace on Friday, July 6 at approximately 11:50 p.m. after Southbury Police responded to an altercation on Hulls Hill Road.

According to police reports, Bekech inflicted multiple injuries on a victim in the altercation.

Bekech was released on $75,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 24.

Man Driving 20 MPH on I-84 Charged With DUI

Byron Salinas, 23, of Danbury was charged with DUI, evading responsibility, failure to drive in proper lane and operation of a motor vehicle without a license on Saturday, July 7 at approximately 2:44 a.m.

According to police reports, State Police Troop ‘A’ received multiple calls of an erratic vehicle traveling on I-84 west in Middlebury. State troopers responded and located the vehicle near exit 15 in Southbury. Salinas was observed traveling at 20 mph and was failing to maintain his lane. His vehicle had also sustained damage from contact with a wire rope guardrail.

Salinas was released on $360 cash bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 18.
