Southbury Police Union Receives 2.27 Percent Pay Increase

The average salary of a Southbury police officer is $50,000.

The Southbury Police Association and its union members recently agreed to a new three-year contract that affords police officers a 2.27 percent annual increase, the Waterbury Republican-American reports.
First-year police officers will earn $50,000 annually.
Because the contract was a bit delayed, the town waited to hire an additional police officer, which cost about $12,000 for overtime costs, the paper reports.
