Southbury Woman Charged With 34 Counts of Animal Cruelty

Police say the arrest stems from a lengthy investigation by Animal Control.

A Southbury woman is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday to face 34 counts of animal cruelty.

The woman, Nancy Boeckel of 1232 Georges Hill Road, was arrested at 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 11, according to a police report made available on Oct. 15. Boeckel turned herself in at police headquarters after learning of the active warrant for her arrest, the report states.

Her arrest stems from an incident on Sept 26, when 31 dogs and three cats were removed from her residence after a lengthy investigation by Southbury Animal Control.
