State Police Report No Highway Fatalities Over Holiday Weekend

Connecticut State Police began their Fourth of July holiday enforcement program on July 3, and ended it at midnight July 7. According to a press release issued by Lt. J. Paul Vance, public information officer, as of 7:30 a.m., Sunday there were no fatalities on state roads.

State police stats:

Total Accidents:  297

Accident with injury: 43

Fatal accidents: 0

DUI ARRESTS:  59 

SPEEDING TICKETS:  2,171 

SEATBELT TICKETS:  451

OTHER HAZARDOUS MOVING VIOLATION TICKETS  i.e. cell phone,unsafe lane change, follow too close etc: 4,883
