Thousands Stolen from Vehicle, Altercation Leads to Several Charges

The following arrest information was supplied by the Southbury police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Electronics, Jewelry Stolen From Car in Southbury Plaza

Southbury police are investigating the theft from a motor vehicle on Saturday, May 26 between 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. outside of Panera Bread in the Southbury Plaza.

According to police reports, the passenger front window of the vehicle was shattered with a blunt object. A Garmin GPS, IPhone 4S, IPad, black bag containing clothing and jewelry and a Ferragamo tote bag was taken from the vehicle. Approximately $3,600 in electronics and $2,800 in jewelry was reported stolen.

Memorial Day Fight Yields Charges

Robert Klein, 26, of Southbury was charged with third degree assault, disorderly conduct and threatening after becoming involved in a verbal and physical altercation with another person on Monday, May 28 at approximately 5:10 p.m.

Klein was held on charges and appeared in Waterbury Superior Court the following day.

Middlebury Man Charged with DWI

Matthew Landusky, 19, of Middlebury was charged with DWI, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to stop at a stop sign after Southbury police observed him driving erratically on Judd Rd. in Southbury on Sunday, May 27 at approximately 12:20 a.m.

Landusky was released on $1,500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 6.
