UPDATE: An afternoon tractor trailer accident that closed multiple lanes on Rt. 67 in Southbury is now cleared, according to Southbury Firefighter Lieutenant Jason Decremer.
The scene was cleared shortly after 3:30 p.m., when DEEP subcontractors finished draining the vehicle’s saddle tanks, according to Decremer.
The truck was carrying mulch, some of which did spill out onto the road as a result of the accident.
The driver did not need to be extricated and no other vehicles were involved, according to Decremer.

ORIGINAL STORY: A tractor trailer traveling on Rt. 67 in Southbury overturned shortly after 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The accident occurred near the exit 15 off ramp of I-84, close to the Southbury Plaza shopping center. According to police reports, one lane of Rt. 67 is currently closed in each direction.
No additional information was immediately released. It is currently unknown if there are any injuries.
